Role: Due to continued business growth, our client is looking to appoint an experienced Perfumer to join its creative team in the Netherlands. This is a hands-on creative role within a business where perfumers play a central role throughout the entire fragrance development process. You will take ownership of projects from initial customer brief through to fragrance creation and customer feedback. Working closely with commercial colleagues and fellow perfumers, you will develop original fragrance creations across multiple product categories while balancing creativity, technical performance, regulatory compliance and commercial objectives. Key Responsibilities

  • Develop original fragrance creations across personal care, beauty care, hair care, household, air care and fine fragrance. 
  • Interpret customer briefs, translating creative requirements into commercially viable fragrance formulations.
  • Create fragrances within defined cost targets, technical requirements and European regulatory restrictions.
  • Manage customer projects from brief through formulation, modification and successful completion.
  • Work directly alongside sales colleagues, providing technical and creative support throughout customer projects.
  • Collaborate with fellow perfumers
  • Contribute towards fragrance palette development and internal fragrance collections.
  • Support fragrance application development and performance testing.
  • Continuously develop knowledge across multiple fragrance applications and product categories.
  • Balance creativity with commercial awareness, understanding customer budgets and business priorities.

Requirements and Qualifications

  • Approximately 7+ years' professional perfumery experience.
  • Proven fragrance creation experience across multiple product categories.
  • Strong understanding of fragrance formulation within cost and regulatory constraints.
  • Experience developing fragrances for European markets.
  • Comfortable working independently while collaborating openly within a small creative team.
  • Confident making creative decisions and receiving direct customer feedback.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with a pragmatic, solution-focused approach.
  • Able to manage multiple customer briefs simultaneously.
  • Strong communication skills and willingness to share knowledge across the perfumery team.
  • Previous experience within an international fragrance house would be advantageous.
  • German market knowledge would be beneficial but is not essential
