The company is currently entering an important phase of succession planning and long-term team development within savoury

flavour creation. As part of this strategy, they are seeking to strengthen the technical seniority and balance of the department

through the addition of an experienced Senior Savoury Flavourist capable of contributing immediately across customer projects,

flavour development and broader technical activities.

 

Role: The company is currently seeking an experienced and technically strong Senior Savoury Flavourist to join its international

flavour creation team in Germany. This position will play a key role within the savoury department and will work closely alongside

commercial, technical and application teams across a broad range of customer projects and flavour development activities.

The successful individual will be responsible for the creation, development and optimisation of savoury flavour systems across

multiple application categories including snacks, sauces, ready meals, seasonings, meat and plant-based products. The role

requires somebody capable of operating autonomously within flavour creation, contributing directly to customer projects and

supporting the wider technical development of the savoury team.

Main Responsibilities

• Develop and create savoury flavour systems across multiple food applications based on customer briefs and project

requirements.

• Work closely with commercial, application and technical teams to support customer projects and flavour development

activities.

• Optimise and modify existing flavour formulations to improve performance, cost efficiency and application suitability.

• Support customer presentations, troubleshooting activities and technical discussions where required.

• Maintain accurate flavour formulation documentation and project records.

• Contribute to broader flavour creation strategy and technical development initiatives within the savoury department.

• Support and collaborate with junior flavourists and trainees where appropriate.

• Monitor market trends, raw material developments and emerging savoury flavour technologies.

• Ensure all flavour development activities align with regulatory and quality requirements.

 

Key Requirements

• Ideally 8-10+ years of hands-on experience within savoury flavour creation, excluding training periods.

• Strong technical understanding of savoury flavour raw materials, flavour interactions and flavour performance across

food applications.

• Proven experience developing flavours for categories such as snacks, sauces, seasonings, meat, ready meals and plant-

based products.

• Ability to operate autonomously across customer projects and flavour development activities.

• Strong communication and collaboration skills across technical and commercial teams.

• Experience working directly with international customers would be advantageous.

• Strong tasting ability and understanding of flavour balance and sensory performance.

• Familiarity with flavour regulations and industry standards.

• Fluent in English, both written and spoken.

• Creative, technically curious and passionate about flavour innovation and development.
