As part of a broader long-term team development strategy, the company is now seeking to strengthen its beverage flavour creation capability through the appointment of an experienced Beverage Flavourist / Senior Beverage Flavourist. The position will play a key technical role within the department, contributing across customer projects, flavour innovation and wider technical activities. The business is specifically looking for somebody capable of operating autonomously within flavour creation whilst also supporting customer-focused beverage development projects across multiple application areas.
Role:
The company is currently seeking an experienced and technically strong Beverage Flavourist / Senior Beverage Flavourist to join its international flavour creation team based in Germany. This position will play a key role within the beverage department and will work closely alongside commercial, technical, analytical and application teams across a broad range of customer projects and flavour development activities.
The successful individual will be responsible for the creation, development and optimisation of beverage flavour systems across multiple application categories including soft drinks, functional beverages, flavoured waters, alcoholic beverages, dairy beverages and powdered drink systems. The role requires somebody capable of independently leading flavour creation projects from concept through to commercialisation, whilst also contributing to innovation projects, customer activities and technical problem-solving initiatives.
In addition to flavour development responsibilities, the position will also involve supporting flavour optimisation activities, participating in cross-functional initiatives, contributing to sensory and analytical discussions, and supporting broader technical development activities across the beverage team.

Main Responsibilities
• Develop and create beverage flavour systems across multiple beverage applications based on customer briefs, market trends and project requirements.
• Lead flavour creation projects for both internal and external customers from initial brief through to final development.
• Optimise and modify existing flavour formulations to improve performance, cost efficiency and application suitability.
• Support beverage flavour development activities across categories including carbonated soft drinks, flavoured waters, dairy beverages, alcoholic beverages and powdered drink systems.
• Work closely with commercial, application, analytical and technical teams to support customer projects and broader flavour development activities.
• Participate in customer visits, presentations and technical discussions where required.
• Contribute to innovation projects and broader flavour creation strategy initiatives within the beverage department.
• Support cross-functional projects and activities including sensory evaluation, quality support and raw material troubleshooting.
• Maintain accurate flavour formulation documentation and project records.
• Monitor market trends, raw material developments, flavour technologies and regulatory changes relevant to beverage flavour creation.
• Support problem-solving activities related to flavour performance, formulation optimisation and customer-specific beverage applications where required.
Key Requirements
• Ideally 5–10+ years of hands-on experience within beverage flavour creation, excluding training periods.
• Strong technical understanding of beverage flavour raw materials, flavour interactions and flavour performance across beverage applications.
• Proven experience developing beverage flavours across categories such as soft drinks, flavoured waters, dairy beverages, alcoholic beverages and powdered beverage systems.
• Ability to operate autonomously across customer projects and flavour development activities.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills across technical and commercial teams.
• Experience supporting customer-facing technical projects would be advantageous.
• Strong tasting ability and understanding of flavour balance and sensory performance within beverage systems.
• Good understanding of analytical techniques and their application within flavour creation activities.
• Good understanding of relevant EMEA flavour regulations and industry standards.
• Willingness to travel internationally on a limited basis.
• Willingness to relocate to be based in Germany.
• Fluent in English, both written and spoken. German language capability would be advantageous but is not essential.
• Creative, technically curious and passionate about flavour innovation and development.
