Company: This innovative European ingredient manufacturer specializes in plant-based functional ingredients designed for
modern food applications. With a strong focus on oat-based solutions and a recently expanded manufacturing platform,
the company is positioned to support growing demand across the dairy alternative and hybrid food segments. Backed by a
well-established Swedish industrial group, the business has already achieved early commercial success within the Nordic
ice cream market and is now entering its next phase of European expansion.
With proven product functionality, technical support tools, demo applications, and existing customer validation, the
company is seeking to accelerate its commercial footprint across continental Europe by building deeper partnerships with
medium and large ice cream manufacturers.
Role: The Global Business Development Manager will be responsible for building and expanding the company’s presence
within the European ice cream manufacturing sector and then broadening out globally. This is a pure business development
role focused on opening new accounts, converting competitive customers, and accelerating the adoption of the company’s
oat-based ingredients across both dairy and plant-based ice cream applications.
Reporting directly to senior leadership, the position will play a key role in transforming an already validated Nordic customer
base into a broader European commercial platform. The successful candidate will operate with a strong hunter mentality,
identifying new opportunities, initiating formulation discussions with technical teams, and driving projects through to
commercial launch.
This is a high-impact commercial role where success will be measured by new account acquisition, pipeline generation, and
the ability to convert technical opportunities into long-term ingredient supply agreements.
Main Responsibilities
• Drive new business acquisition across Europe, proactively identifying and targeting medium to large ice cream
manufacturers.
• Develop and execute a market penetration strategy designed to expand the company’s presence beyond its current
Nordic customer base.
• Open new commercial relationships through industry networking, direct outreach, trade fairs, and existing industry
contacts.
• Identify manufacturers currently using competing stabilizers, plant proteins, or oat-based ingredients and develop
strategies to convert those accounts.
• Own the full sales cycle from initial prospecting through technical discussions, trials, negotiations, and contract
signature.
• Collaborate closely with R&D and technical teams to position the company’s Dried Oat Extract within plant-based,
hybrid, and traditional dairy ice cream formulations.
• Promote concept-based selling by identifying reformulation opportunities and proposing new product concepts to
customers.
• Accelerate formulation projects from sampling stage to industrial trial and ultimately commercial launch.
• Support distributors and technical partners when required, stepping in to close strategic opportunities and ensure
momentum in the sales pipeline.
• Maintain a strong pipeline of opportunities across multiple European markets, ensuring consistent progression from
initial contact to commercial supply agreements.
• Represent the company within relevant trade networks and industry platforms to strengthen brand awareness
within the ice cream manufacturing sector.Key Requirements
• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Food Science, Business, Marketing, or a related discipline.
• Approximately 5–10+ years of experience in business development or ingredient sales within the food ingredients
industry.
• Strong understanding of the ice cream manufacturing sector, including formulation-driven sales cycles and
technical collaboration with R&D teams.
• Demonstrated success in opening new B2B ingredient accounts and building revenue pipelines within the
European food industry.
• Established network within the ice cream, dairy, or plant-based food manufacturing ecosystem.
• Ability to sell concepts and ingredient functionality rather than purely transactional products.
• Entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to independently identify opportunities and drive commercial
momentum.
• Strong communication and negotiation skills with the ability to engage both commercial and technical
stakeholders.
• Willingness to travel frequently across Europe to build customer relationships and support project development.
